Fascial Flow®
Basic Training

When the body’s senses are engaged and expressed through encounters involving touch and movement, sustainable, transformative, and healing work takes place. Integrate bodily wisdom and support the healing of conditions and trauma through Fascial Flow® movement.

Please note: Courses are taught in Danish unless it is explicitly stated that a course will be held in English.

Teaching and Approach

Relational and deeply embodied work with people requires, first and foremost, an understanding of your own body’s history and an awareness of the states and patterns within your own nervous system.

The program is therefore an invitation to be curious, courageous, and fully present as you explore the body’s patterns, experiences, and emotional imprints. The instruction is primarily based on experiential anatomy and sensory-based practice, since you can only convey knowledge authentically once you have experienced movements and processes from within. We explore, in a gentle, playful, and inquisitive way, the early sensory and bodily experiences that are stored wordlessly in the body’s tissues and nervous system throughout life. In this program, we seek to learn from and with the body — rather than relying primarily on the mind.

The movements stimulate the body’s ability to transform tissue structure, train the nervous system’s resilience, establish a sense of inner security when facing challenges, form a new perception of bodily sensations, and foster an understanding of the social nervous system. You will always have plenty of time to immerse yourself in the sensations and emotions that the movements make accessible. In this way, Fascial Flow will become integrated into your innermost layers.

The basic training program spans 24 instructional days, divided into 8 modules, with a maximum of 10 participants per session. Learning takes place through gentle movements, which are explored individually and in pairs.

Experience theoretical and sensory-based instruction in:

  •  85 movement sequences for landing, supporting, and regulating the body and nervous system — developed by Jeanne Jensen, founder of Fascial Flow
  • The structure, function, and main sensory cells of the fascial system
  • The Autonomic Nervous System and Its Interaction with Fascia (Connective Tissue)
  • The Social Nervous System and the Importance of Security for the Ability to Self-Regulate and Co-Regulate
  • The three primary senses (proprioceptive, tactile, and vestibular) for improved sensory integration and functional ability
  • Language and sounds that promote interoceptive perception and the body’s ability to heal itself
  • Restoration of Early Reflexes Through Playful Movements and Structural Integration
  • The Body’s Six Postural Zones for Sustainable Postural Change and Internal Support Through New Sensory Perception

You will receive a handbook containing drawings and descriptions of movement sequences, as well as a reading list and a playlist. The reading list is intended to serve as inspiration and for your own further study, and will not be covered as part of the course curriculum.

BONUS: Most of the classes are filmed, so you, as a student, have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the learning process and practice the many physical exercises both during and after your program. The recordings are shared only within the participant group and are for private use only.

As a Fascial Flow® Guide, you will achieve:

  • the skills to use Fascial Flow® on an individual basis, e.g., in a therapeutic setting, as well as to offer group classes and group programs
  • Gentle tools for working with your target audience through touch, contact, and movement
  • greater sensitivity in dealing with stress, shock, and trauma
  • a new language to awaken and engage with wordless states within the fabric
  • greater awareness of one's own body patterns and improved ability to regulate them
  • the ability to tolerate and cope with discomfort related to one’s own and others’ physical conditions
  • create a safe space so that the participant can experience and explore their own process in a safe environment
  • understanding the body's signals and their connection to the nervous system
  • knowledge of the fascial system and its importance for mobility, well-being, energy, posture, pain issues, and stress
  • the experience of being authentically present when encountering needs and boundaries
  • opportunity to become a member of the professional community, the Association of Fascial Flow® Guides.

Pernille is an outstanding teacher. She creates a welcoming space and builds trust from the very first meeting. Her teaching is both inclusive and caring, yet at the same time demanding and ambitious. Pernille has been great at bringing out a sense of “responsibility” in me — to become more aware in my relationships and to be fully present with what is mine. For me, it’s been about demanding presence and connection — and realizing that I actually deserve it.

Anna Hvas, Psychotherapist, Yoga Instructor, and Owner of Kirsebærkroen

The training has helped me become aware of my patterns — how they manifest in my body and in my behavior. It has been liberating to discover how my patterns are connected to my nervous system, and I feel a new sense of freedom as I become more grounded in my body. I’ve worked in the field of employment services for a municipality for many years, and I see great potential for applying Fascial Flow as a service for certain residents, as well as in companies’ efforts to manage and prevent stress among employees.

Anne Holmsgaard, Consultant

Taking the Basic Training course has been very inspiring and life-affirming. Pernille is a fantastic facilitator when it comes to teaching and the group’s development. She is professionally competent and masters the difficult art of balancing being present and authentic while authoritatively holding the space, so that we, the participants, can safely explore something that is potentially very vulnerable. In my work with people on the autism spectrum, this method has proven particularly useful.

Marie-Louise Iuul, Educational Specialist, MF

The non-performance-oriented approach in the Basic Training program gives deep meaning to my work coaching young people under pressure to perform. I already use the simplest of these movements in my exam anxiety courses, and they’re so amazing because they work after just a short time—and they rekindle a desire to be aware of the body and unlock its potential.

Linda Hejselbak Jensen, Coach and High School Teacher

I feel as though I’ve gone from a “reclining” position to being able to rise up from within. I’ve made an emotional connection to strength, defiance, and drive—qualities that had been hidden in every layer of my being. I’ve found that I can better regulate my state by moving with Fascial Flow. It gives me a sense of freedom, joy, pride, independence, and, not least, HOPE.

Bettina Gram, Psychomotor Therapist and Teacher

I really appreciate the course materials and all the videos. They’re truly useful between modules. The program has been thorough and professional. The modules flow together really well and build on each other nicely. I’ve been very inspired by the new form of body language that I’ve come to experience through Fascial Flow.

Ane Friis, Therapist and 5 Rhythms Instructor

I wanted to connect with the slow, wordless, and playful part of myself and learn about the body’s connective tissue and its relationship to the nervous system and posture—and my expectations have been more than met. I found the teaching to be very inclusive, playful, expansive, moving, balanced, loving, and professional. I felt seen, heard, and understood. I plan to incorporate this even more into my yoga classes and use it in therapeutic settings, such as grief support groups.

Henriette Dan, Psychotherapist, Yoga Instructor, and Mindfulness Instructor

These small, slow encounters with myself have at times been very overwhelming, but I now dare to step into that “space” and sense that there is so much there for me—and in slowing down. The oscillation—moving back and forth between gentle sequences, the structured ones, and the dynamic ones in waves—has given me so much in terms of regulating my nervous system and connecting with my own resources. I’ve found that the Fascial Flow movements can go beyond my personal history and create a connection to the very deep, supportive connective tissue structures within me.

Helle Hornshøj Pedersen, Body and Psychotherapist

I’ve gained so many tools for balancing my body. The sequences with sounds, in particular, resonate deeply with me. Pernille’s personality and communication skills, combined with her calm demeanor, make the material easy to understand and have made me feel seen and heard. Fascial Flow has opened a new door for me, and I look forward to integrating it even more into my life.

Kamille Frederiksen, Social Educator

I work with many people who have overloaded nervous systems, have collapsed, and have lost their body awareness. They all really enjoy working with balls and resistance bands. These tools are a great way to start “daring” to let themselves be heldto lean into… to reach out…
I draw heavily on what I learned in this training program in my professional practice.

Bettina Højsgaard, Body-Oriented Trauma Therapist

With only 8 participants in the program, it has been a very “intimate” environment. I felt that Pernille really saw me—both when I arrived, during the feedback sessions along the way, and at the end — which provided me with important support. I’ve changed a lot because I’ve become much more attuned to what my body is telling me. The theory is outside my usual field of work, so that part has also been very useful to me.

Exams and Certification

The Fascial Flow® Basic Training course concludes with an exam video that you produce yourself, showing you teaching a group Fascial Flow®. If you wish to use Fascial Flow® only in therapeutic settings, you may also demonstrate this by recording a therapy session.

The purpose of the exam video includes, among other things:

  • to see how you yourself incorporate your understanding of the body into your communication
  • to see how you connect with the participants
  • to demonstrate that you can create a coherent lesson plan composed of the elements that make up Fascial Flow®

Jeanne Jensen is the external examiner for the video material, and you will receive personalized feedback from Pernille. Upon passing the exam, you will receive a certificate as a Fascial Flow® Guide, after which you may use the title in your work.
